Welcome….

I’ve intended to document my musings for awhile but was never really able to get off the ground. In hindsight, I didn't have a real purpose (until now), and without purpose there can be no motivation. My vision with “Lava Bed Diaries” is to provide a closer look into how, where and when the images on this site are captured.

I’ll share my observations on nature and wildlife, discuss the photography and outdoor gear I use, and generally ramble on about my photography adventures in and around the Pacific Northwest. It’s one thing to look at a beautiful image, understanding more about what it took to capture that image provides a deeper connection and level of appreciation (that’s the idea anyways).
